Trash Designer Handbook – “Building a New Profession from What We Throw Away”
This handbook introduces the emerging profession of the Trash Designer at the intersection of sustainability, creativity and innovation. It explains the roots of reuse and upcycling, presents the core skills and competences needed to work with discarded materials, and shows how trash design can be applied across different fields through examples and case studies. It also includes practical guidance for educators and institutions on how to teach trash design responsibly, including ethical aspects and implementation strategies.

Recommendations – “Trash Designer: Artistic Profession of the Future”
This publication is a practical guide for art schools, VET centres and cultural institutions that want to integrate Trash Design into their educational programmes. It offers ready-to-use teaching content such as lesson scenarios, tools and safety guidance, assessment criteria, and ideas for short- and long-term student projects—supported by reflections on benefits, challenges and real educational contexts. It is designed to help teachers, curriculum leaders and decision-makers introduce trash design in a structured way, adapted to different learning environments.
